Low-carb diets put Twinkies, Wonder Bread at risk:
Twinkies September 22 — BUSINESS NEWS:
Interstate Bakeries Corp., most widely known for treats like Twinkies and Wonder Bread, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The company cites the growing low-carb diet trend as a cause for lower sales and lost profits.

The company has been hit by both accounting problems and a drop in sales it attributed to the popularity of low-carb diets.

General Foods International offers low-carb flavors:
September 15 — NEW PRODUCT:
General Foods Coffees General Foods International has reintroduced its sugar free, low fat flavors with two grams of carbs and 30 calories per serving. Available in the brand's popular French Vanilla Cafe, Suisse Mocha, Cafe Vienna and Chai Latte flavors, the new products offer a creamy and rich-tasting drink option.

Sugar Free French Vanilla Cafe, Sugar Free Suisse Mocha and Sugar Free Cafe Vienna are also sold in 4.4 oz. tins, and the French Vanilla Cafe and Suisse Mocha flavors are available in decaffeinated. The suggested retail price for all the flavors is $3.69.

Pizza Hut Pizza Hut offers Carb Tracker pizza:
September 10 — NEW PRODUCT:
Pizza Hut has expanded its Fit N' Delicious line with new Carb Tracker pizzas. The individually-sized (6-inch) lower-carb pizzas are specially formulated to "give you the great taste you expect from a Pizza Hut pizza" with between 22 and 26g of net carbs.

Bacardi Silver Anheuser-Busch to expand low-carb Bacardi line:
September 8 — PRODUCT NEWS:
CarbWire has learned that Anheuser-Busch will expand it's low-carb Bacardi line with the introduction of Bacardi Silver Green Apple. The company started shipping Bacardi Silver low-carb Black Cherry in June. Look for the new Green Apple flavor in October.

If the nutritional values stay the same, Bacardi Silver Green Apple will contain 2.6 grams of carbs and 96 calories per 12oz bottle.
