Overcoming the Hidden Dangers of Insulin Resistance

With our discovery of this must-have book by Miryam Ehrlich Williamson, we find that we could not resist breaking with tradition here and recommending this book, rather than a typical low carb product to highlight here.

Some of you who know me personally, know that I have several bookcases packed with every low carb cookbook, diet plan, and research paper that I can fit in them. I try to read everything I can get my hands on... some with better reactions than others. But it's a rare thing that I pick up one of the books and cannot put it down. Ms. Williamson's book is such a work. And I am not alone. I shared it with friends and review team members and the consensus is that everyone should read this book.

Sugar Cubes It's neither a cookbook (though it does contain a modest few recipes at the end), and it's not a "How To" book (though the reader will surely learn their own how-to's as they go and find themselves in pages of this book. Rather, it's a look at what a diet high in carbohydrate (starches and sugars) has wraught in our own bodies.

She devotes individual chapters to specific conditions and explains them in a way that you may not have heard before. There are chapters on Diabetes (Types I and II), Hypoglycemia, PCOS, Cancer, Osteoporosis, Heart Disease, and much more. It's both clinical and jargon-free at the same time. She speaks from well documented research and presents case histories as well. It all comes back to a high carbohydrate diet and the insulin resistance that results... causing a cascade effect of other health endangering conditions.
