Restaurant: Clark's Fish Camp Location: 12903 Hood Landing Rd Menu Items Recommended: Prime-Rib, Seafood, Fish, Wild Game — Very extensive menu. Comments: The food is outstanding! The Prime-Rib is as big as a family size roast! (I'm not kidding!) Very generous portions on ALL menu items. The atmosphere is amazing... it's rustic and located on the water — stuffed wild animals that completly fill the inside area, including the dining room (Rhinos, Lions, Tigers, Deer, Birds...etc.) You don't want to miss out on this place... Trust me. Submission by: Lisa (justustwo@mediaone.net) Restaurant: Woody's Bar-b-que Locations: 1638 University Blvd. S.; 8221 Southside Blvd #20; and others. Menu Items Recommended: Beef, Chicken, Turkey, Pork, and Ribs. Comments: All meat is smoked to perfection. The Woody's located on Beach Blvd. offers all-you-can-eat (your choice of meat; any day) for just $1.00 more! Kids eat FREE on Mondays! They're open for lunch and dinner. Atmosphere is "country", and dress is casual. Submission by: Lisa (justustwo@mediaone.net) Restaurant: Sonny's Real Pit Bar-B-Q Locations: 5097 W. University Blvd.; 1923 S Lane Ave.; 4434 Blanding Blvd.; 10840 Harts Rd; 8220 Atlantic Blvd.; 2720 State Road 16 Menu Items Recommended: Beef, Chicken, Turkey, Pork, and Ribs. Comments: Cooked slow, served fast. Tasty beef, pork, chicken, ribs. Don't order the "sweet" sauce - it's pure sugar, but the others are fine. Hot is very hot, so be aware. Dress is casual. Submission by: Multiple submissions Restaurant: Bono's Pit Bar-B-Q Locations: 5229 Jammes Rd.; 1307 Atlantic Blvd.; 1266 S 3rd St.; 5903 Norwood Ave; 1177-9 Park Ave.; 1036 Dunn Ave; and others. Menu Items Recommended: All meats and ribs, plus pulled pork etc. Comments: Their Baby back ribs and barbecue salad are favorites. Meat is very tender and lightly smoked. Hold those fries! Dress is casual. Submission by: Multiple submissions Restaurant: Motogas Japanese Steak House Location: 7950 Atlantic Blvd. Menu Items Recommended: Sashimi, Steak, Chicken, Shrimp, Scallops, Salad, Soup (broth), (Filet Mignon, Lobster and Fish are also offered at dinner time.) Comments: This is my favorite place to eat by far — not to mention 8 or 10 of my other friends! They're open for lunch Monday through Friday, 11:00 till 2:00; and Sunday, 12:00 till 3:00. Dinner is served from 4:00 till 10:00 PM nightly, including Saturday. Dinner offers a Chef that puts on a show of sorts. Fancy knife work, including strobe lights, flipping shrimp into his hat or pocket, tossing an egg into the air and cracking it with the side of his spatula. But best of all — the onion volcano — that he fills with alcohol and sets afire! All this is done right in front of you, as he prepares your meal at the grill tables (which can accomodate 8 people at each.) Your meal includes your choice of any TWO combinations (chicken, steak, shrimp, scallops, etc...) Soup, Salad, and Grilled Vegetable (onion, zuchinni and mushrooms.) ABSOLUTLY NO STEAMED OR FRIED RICE FOR YOU! Ask them to fry an egg on the side just for you instead — that's what I do and they are wonderful there and will aim to please. Dinner also includes: a Shrimp appetizer, and an order of grilled Bean Sprouts. Lunch is nearly half the price, but no "show" or appetizer. However, you may order the bean sprouts for an additional $1.50. All grilled food is prepared on a Tappan grill with only oil and butter (except the fried rice that you won't be having.) Dinner is formal-casual and lunch is casual attire. Submission by: Lisa (justustwo@mediaone.net) |
